Early Life
Though little is recorded about his early years, Joseph is described as a “just man” — faithful to the law and deeply devoted to God. A carpenter by trade, he lived simply in Nazareth.

Guardian of the Holy Family
Betrothed to Mary, Joseph faced shock when he learned of her miraculous pregnancy. Yet, after a dream from an angel, he took her into his home with trust and tenderness. He protected Mary and the Christ Child through the dangers of Herod’s reign, fleeing into Egypt and returning only when it was safe. Joseph’s courage and obedience ensured the safety and nurture of the Son of God.

Legacy
