Overview
St. Carlo Acutis, known as “God’s influencer,” was an ordinary teenager who used his digital gifts to share the timeless truth of the Gospel. Growing up in Milan, he had a deep devotion to the Eucharist and a love for technology. He built a website documenting Eucharistic miracles across the world, using the internet as a tool for evangelization. Carlo’s faith was simple, joyful, and contagious, showing that holiness in the 21st century means using every gift, even a laptop, for the glory of God.
“The Eucharist is my highway to heaven.”
Life Story
Early Life
Born in London and raised in Milan, Carlo was a bright, curious, and kindhearted child. He loved computer programming, sports, and video games, but faith always came first. He attended daily Mass, prayed the Rosary, and spent time in Eucharistic Adoration. His friends described him as joyful and sincere, always defending the marginalized and standing up for truth.
Digital Missionary
At just 11 years old, Carlo began designing a website to catalog Eucharistic miracles — a massive project that he built himself. He saw technology not as a distraction, but as a way to reach souls. He once said, “Everyone is born an original, but many die as copies,” urging others to use their unique gifts to serve God.
Legacy
In 2006, Carlo was diagnosed with acute leukemia. He offered his suffering for the Pope and the Church, saying, “I’m happy to die, because I lived my life without wasting even a minute on things that don’t please God.” He was buried in Assisi, dressed in jeans and sneakers — a saint for the modern age. Canonized in 2025 by Pope Francis, Carlo stands as a model for young people everywhere: a reminder that technology, when used with love, can lead souls to heaven.
